Cold Shift Flare
Below 50°F (10°C), you roll out of the driveway, give it light throttle, and the RPM jumps before the shift hits. Then it grabs. Hard.

The long-term issue isn’t the rattle. It’s complexity. More hydraulics. More sensors. More things to fail after 150,000 miles (241,000 km). I’ve seen high-mileage SH cars where the ATTS system starts acting lazy or noisy. Parts availability isn’t as friendly as the base drivetrain.
If you want simple ownership, the base model is cleaner.

Axle Seals and Differential Bearings
ATF dripping from the axle outputs. Owner replaces seals. Leak comes back.
That’s usually not the seal’s fault. It’s output shaft bearing play. Once the differential bearings loosen up, the axle stub wobbles just enough to wipe out the seal lip. You can slap new seals in there all day. It’s a band-aid fix.
I see this more often past 100,000 miles (161,000 km). Ignore it and you risk deeper internal wear.
